Dear Subscriber :
Please find attached the latest CP-USA Crime
Activity Report (CAR) dated
10/13/2010.
After an apparent lull
last month in Aggravated Assault/Assault with a Deadly Weapon
(Level 1) reports, the first half of October has already
recorded 4 such incidents. The Assault/Battery (Level 2)
reports are also showing slow but repeated increases in August
and September.
As a community
therefore, we must redouble our efforts to help mitigate such
incidents. Castro Community on Patrol (CCOP), the Sisters of
Perpetual Indulgence (SPI) and Triangle Martial Arts
Association (TMAA) are working alongside the San Francisco
Police Department, the San Francisco Patrol Special Police and
neighborhood community and business associations to do just
that through the "Stop The Violence" campaign
amongst others. Mark Saturday October 30 @ 4pm on your
calendar as all organizations will host a "Whistles
1-2-3" rally at the newly named Jane
Warner Plaza (17th
Street @ Castro Street) to train the community in how to use a
safety whistle, what to do when you hear one, and where to get
one. Join in and show your support for community safety and
unity.
As always, CP-USA strongly encourages you to get
involved and volunteer:
· Volunteer as a neighborhood watch person or start
one on your street (SF-SAFE).
· Volunteer to patrol with the Community On Patrol
Service (COPS)
in your neighborhood.
· Volunteer and get trained with the SFFD Neighborhood
Emergency Reponses Team (NERT)
or with the SFPD Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS).
· Volunteer and participate in the FEMA Citizens
Corps.
Make a difference in our
community and volunteer today.
Sincerely,
Ken
Craig
Chief of Patrol
“Building Safer Neighborhoods by Collaborating on Community
Safety and Security”
Community Patrol USA is a not for profit, entirely volunteer run,
organization that seeks to build comprehensive collaborative
efforts on safety and security between residents, businesses,
private security and law enforcement agencies. We also support and
assist in the development of Citizen Walking Patrols and advocate
for general safety and security measures at the neighborhood,
city, state and national level.
