Features
and Benefits of the Patrol Special Police for Your Business Needs
|
| |
I. We provide effective “special
neighborhood policing.” |
| |
Neighborhood
policing has many advantages for businesses because we
concentrate only on activities that add value for our clients, their
patrons, and the entire neighborhood. We
listen carefully and respond to your particular needs and priorities.
We then apply our culture of care for
all whom we serve,
and towards
all with whom
we interact. We seek to effectively resolve disturbances early and
with minimal inconvenience to clients and their
community. Arrest is seldom required in this kind of policing, but
can be effected as necessary and required by best policing practices
in consideration first, of your safety and security.

II. We provide value-driven policing. |
| |
We focus on
activities that add value to our clients. We have no large fixed
operating costs so don’t impose hidden administrative surcharges.
We carry full liability coverage at no additional cost to our clients
– benefits not standard
with some other policing or security organizations. Consequently,
our rates are the most competitive you will find for the type and
level of service you desire. We concentrate services on your business
and your neighborhood, without having to leave to handle incident
calls across the city. Lastly, we provide alert policing service because
we do not arrive in your neighborhood after already putting in ‘nine-to-five’
in another police district, which is value added for our clients.

III. We provide effective officer
visibility -- with discretion. |
| |
Sound public
relations strategy to build good will for any business requires
the public to not only be benefited,
but to know
of your commitment to
their safety. However, officer visibility without
discretioncan result in objections from those living nearby,
especially in districts zoned for mixed residential and commercial
use. Residents may object to late-night noise from emergency
or patrol vehicles. Furthermore, high visibility of officers
on the premises can result in patrons erroneously concluding that
your business is a problem spot. As a result, most businesses
prefer that incidents be handled quickly and with minimal disruption.
However,
the Patrol Special Police can provide discrete
visibility in
the following ways:
- Our officers are
always proactive and cordial in approaching your clients and patrons
as well as passersby on the street, to build visibility and good
public relations.
- Our officers are
uniformed, fully armed, and carry two-way police radios on S.F.P.D.
dispatch frequencies. Our uniformed presence communicates authority
and commands respect necessary to maintain peace and order.
- Our officers employ
tactical parking rotation of patrol cars to build visibility.
Our Crown Victoria vehicles are equipped in ways that resemble
unmarked police vehicles.
- Our officers
practice unobtrusive neighborhood-oriented policing tactics, but
invoke our S.F.P.D. academy training and extensive policing experience
in order to effect as necessary,
escalating responses including arrests.

IV. We report to the San Francisco
Police Department. |
| |
We are structured under the S.F.P.D.
and each of our officers is assigned to work out of his or her local
S.F.P.D. District Office. All police officers work
together, providing backup to each other as needed and ensuring
the safety of all citizens.
